Application field, working condition characteristics and selection of radar level gauge
Radar level meter has the advantages of accurate measurement, stable performance, high reliability, easy maintenance, and wide application. It is a commonly used level measurement instrument. So, what are the application fields of radar level gauges, what are the characteristics of different working conditions, and how should the type be selected specifically for different working conditions? To this end, this article discusses the selection of radar level gauges based on the application fields of radar level gauges, combined with the characteristics of different application conditions.
The application fields of radar level meters are very wide, covering coal industry, steel industry, metallurgical industry, cement industry, electric power industry, semiconductor industry, water conservancy industry, environmental protection industry (water treatment), coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry, food, and pharmaceutical industries, etc. The following is an introduction to the production links, working conditions and specific selection of radar level gauges in various industries:
1. Coal industry
Radar level meter can be used in raw coal bunker, pulverized coal bunker, coal gangue storage level, coal washing pool and other production links in the coal industry. The application of these production links belongs to the typical solid material measurement. Due to the characteristics of strong dust, low dielectric constant and long range in the working conditions, high-frequency pulse radar level meters are mainly used in the selection of models.
2. Steel industry
In the iron and steel industry, the main production links that can be used with radar level meters are: coal coking: coal preparation bunker, coke bunker, gas tank, coal tar and crude benzene tank; sintering plant: sintered material mixing warehouse, cold return ore, pelletizing Warehouses; ironworks: intermediate warehouses for ironmaking, blast furnace material levels, etc.
The working conditions of these links have the following characteristics:
①The volatile crystallization of tar and crude benzene;
②High temperature and dust adhesion of blast furnace material level;
③Solid material measurement, strong dust, low dielectric constant, long range.
In view of the above characteristics of the working conditions, radar level gauges are mainly used for solid measurement, and high-frequency pulse radar level gauges should be the main ones when selecting models.
3. Nonferrous metallurgy industry (aluminum, nickel, zinc, titanium, etc.)
In the metallurgical industry (aluminum making) slurry tank, dissolution tank, flash tank, post-dissolution tank, flocculation tank, settling tank, decomposition tank, alumina powder silo and other production links, radar level meters are often used.
The working conditions of these links are relatively complex, and various chemical reaction environments have factors such as high temperature, strong water vapor, stirring or corrosion. Therefore, in view of the above working conditions, in the selection, in view of the influence of high temperature water vapor, referring to factors such as corrosion, range, stirring, hanging material, etc., a low-frequency radar level meter should be selected. For solid measurement, high-frequency radar level meter should still be preferred.
4. Cement industry
In the cement industry, common production links include raw material warehouse, raw meal homogenization warehouse, clinker warehouse, finished product warehouse, fly ash warehouse, raw coal warehouse, gypsum warehouse, and cement slag warehouse. The working conditions of the above-mentioned links have the characteristics of strong dust, low dielectric constant and long range. Material measurement in the cement industry is a typical solid material measurement, and the selection application should be based on high-frequency pulse radar level meter.
5. Power industry (thermal power, hydropower, biological power generation)
(Thermal power) raw coal and pulverized coal silo, circulating water pool, low and high-water level, limestone powder silo, ash hopper material level, ash silo, slag silo, desulfurization tower liquid, etc. are the production links in the power industry. When measuring solid materials, because these solid materials have the characteristics of strong dust, low dielectric constant and long range, when measuring these solid materials, the selection should be based on high-frequency pulse radar level meter. When measuring the liquid level of the desulfurization tower, due to the presence of more foam, water vapor, and the characteristics of crystallization and spray interference, at this time, the measurement of the liquid level of the desulfurization tower should be based on the commonly used low-frequency radar level meter.
6. Semiconductor industry
In the semiconductor industry, radar level gauges are mainly used in silicon powder silos. The working conditions of this production link are characterized by low dielectric constant and strong dust. For the level measurement of this working condition, a high-frequency radar level meter should be selected when selecting a model.
7. Water conservancy industry
In the water conservancy industry, radar level meters are mainly used in hydrological monitoring, flood control alarm, farmland irrigation and other fields. In these occasions, the signal transmission is far, the power supply voltage is low, and the installation position is greatly affected by the embankment and dam, so the high-frequency radar level gauge with radar waves with a small beam angle should be preferred.
8. Environmental protection and water treatment industry
In the environmental protection and water treatment industries, the main links that can use radar level gauges are: collecting wells, coarse grids, fine grids, biochemical reaction pools, mud flushing pools, sludge pools, well dissolution pools, etc. Because the working conditions of these production links are generally simple except for the ultra-long range and long and narrow spaces such as water collection wells. In the selection, the measurement of the water collecting well can choose the high-frequency radar level meter according to the range requirements.
9. Coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry
In the coal chemical industry, calcium carbide chemical industry, and petrochemical industry, the main working conditions that can be applied to radar level gauges are:
①Petrochemical industry: crude oil depot, gasoline tank, diesel tank, natural gas tank, etc.
②Calcium carbide chemical industry: coal bunker, calcium carbide bunker, etc.
③Coal coke chemical industry: refer to the coal industry.
These working conditions mainly have the following characteristics:
①In the coal chemical industry, when measuring solid materials, it has the characteristics of strong dust, low dielectric constant and long range. However, there is a shock interference echo in the gas counter measurement.
②The measurement environment of various oil depots is simple, but requires high precision.
③The natural gas spherical tank has pressure and the dielectric constant is small.
④The conditions of various chemical reactors are different.
For the above working conditions, when measuring solid materials, high-frequency pulse radar level gauges should be used. High-frequency radar is preferred for various oil depots and spherical tanks that have high requirements on accuracy, and high-frequency radar is also preferred for gas cabinets that are prone to oscillating interference signals. Chemical reactors are selected according to actual conditions and parameters.
10. Food and pharmaceutical industry
Radar level meter is mainly used for the measurement of edible oil tanks and soybean meal storage tanks in the food and pharmaceutical industry. The environment of these oil tanks is relatively simple, there are certain requirements for measurement accuracy, and the medical and food industries themselves have relatively high requirements for antenna hygiene. According to the characteristics of the above working conditions, when selecting the type, the high-frequency radar level meter is preferred for the measurement environment with high precision. If there are hygienic requirements, the antenna of the sealed material that meets the hygienic conditions should be selected.
Through the above description, it is not difficult to see that the application range of radar level gauge is still very wide, which covers most fields of industrial production such as electric power, steel, metallurgy, cement, petrochemical, papermaking, and food. Since the radar level gauge can measure almost all media, it can be applied in most occasions. According to the measured containers, there are usually spherical tanks, horizontal tanks, cylindrical tanks, cylindrical cone tanks, etc. In terms of tank function, the radar level gauge can measure the liquid level in storage tanks, buffer tanks, microwave tubes, and bypass pipes; in terms of the measured medium, the radar level gauge can measure liquids, particles, and materials. Slurry, etc. are measured. It is precisely because of the wide range of applications that when selecting models, users must select models based on the characteristics of the working conditions, so that the purchased radar level gauge can be better used and promote the smooth progress of production.
